Everybody knows that eBay is the centre for online trade – in fact, more of the world's internet commerce goes through eBay than any other single website – and that accounts for a lot of money. For thousands of people around the world eBay is a source of full or part-time income, and a vital part of their money-making career which they could not live without.

With such a crucial role in the online economy, eBay has become one of the largest and most-trusted institutions of the internet age, and the ultimate beacon of online trade and commerce. But how would you feel if suddenly one day your eBay account was suspended? Picture it: one minute you are happily trading and racking up profits, and the next your account is blocked and your personal details blacklisted, leaving you out on a limb and financially insecure?

It is a more common scenario than you might think. The internet is full of stories from disgruntled traders who have had their eBay account suspended by the website's staff. This article will explore in depth the is to issue of suspended eBay accounts, and answer some frequently asked questions about suspended eBay accounts, including what happens if your eBay account is suspended, why your eBay account can get suspended, and the most common question of all, “how can I get my suspended eBay account back?!”

Before looking at reasons why your account might have been suspended, lets look at what actually happens to your when your eBay account gets suspended. This information comes directly from eBay users who have had it happen to them.

What happens to me when my eBay account is suspended?

The main things that will happen when your eBay account is suspended are:

  • You receive an automated email informing you of your suspension, which may include details of why your account was suspended;
  • Any auctions you are running are immediately closed, and you may not receive credit for fees for ended listings;
  • Any outstanding eBay fees are due immediately
  • The personal information associated with your account gets blacklisted, which stops you from creating a new account (note: this includes your name, email address, physical address, phone number, your computer's IP address, and any other personal information you have given eBay at any time.)
  • You have limited or no access to eBay account features, like leaving feedback or sending email to other users.

For someone who relies on trading through eBay as a source of income, having your account suspended can be disastrous. First, any current auctions you are running are immediately closed – which means an instant loss of money for you. Plus you may not even get the money for listings which have already ended. Second, any fees you owe to eBay or eBay users are due immediately. The “ifs” and “whens” are not important: you have to pay it straight away.

Perhaps most importantly though, your personal information is blacklisted by eBay, which means you can not register a new account using the same name, email address, physical address, telephone number or even the same IP address as you used on the suspended account. We will see how you can get around this later and start a “clean”, new eBay account.

What is an “indefinite” eBay account suspension?

Having your account suspended “indefinitely” is the most common method used by eBay to suspend accounts. The word “suspended” itself is the clue that your account could be reinstated by eBay at some point, if they want to. A typical suspension period will last for 30 or 60 days, usually with no definite account reinstatement date.

Since it might be possible to get your account back, it helps to know why it was suspended in the first place, so lets look at some frequent reasons for eBay accounts being suspended.

Why was my eBay account suspended?

Acording to eBay there are two possible reasons your account can be suspended: for “serious” breaches of eBay's Rules and Policies (which you agree to abide by when you sign up for an account with eBay) and for non-payment of outstanding eBay fees.

If you have ever read eBay's Rules and Policies you will know they are extremely long, contain several pages, and contain lots of legal jargon which the average eBay user is unlikely to understand. But we can still look at some real life examples of how specific eBay users have violated eBay policies and had their accounts suspended.

  • Non-payment of outstanding eBay fees

When it comes to non-payment of eBay fees, the road to having your account unsuspended it usually quite simple. According to the eBay Rules And Policies, “your account will be reinstated automatically as soon as you pay any outstanding fees.” Viola.

  • Identity and Tax Verification

In cases where eBay might doubt your identity or tax registration they will quote you a part of their Rules And Policies which states that they can suspend you for “creating problems, possible legal liabilities, or acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies." Usually in this case your account is flagged automatically, and can be easily reinstated by sending them certain documents verifying your identity. Examples of the documents eBay might request from you include:

  1. Proof of name and address
  2. Proof that the item/s you listed are in your possession
  3. Confirmation of your up-to-date contact details
  4. Receipt, bill of sale, dispatch or sales invoice
  5. Agreement with your supplier

Once they receive your information and are satisfied with it, they can choose to reinstate your eBay account.

  • Listing more than 100 auctions per day

Many eBay users claim that when you list more than 100 auctions per day your account is automatically flagged by eBay and likely to be suspended. For that reason it is recommended to list under 100 auctions per day. For a brand new account some eBay users say you can be flagged for listing more than 5 auctions per day.

  • Copyright Infringement, or, the “VeRO Program”

The VeRO (Verified Rights Owner) Program was set up by eBay to protect the owners of “intellectual property rights” (such as copyrights, trademarks and patents) from any kind of infringement or counterfeiting from eBay users, and it applies to all eBay listings.

According to eBay Rules & Policies there are three main ways you can violate VeRO and have your account suspended: listing counterfeit goods (such as bootlegged clothing or DVDs); listing goods you do not have the rights to sell (certain products like games consoles you must be an authorised retailer to sell); and reusing someone else's images or texts without their permission.

In this case you will have to plead your case to eBay and remove the offending items from your auction, but it is not guaranteed that you will get your eBay account unsuspended.

What can I do if my eBay account was suspended?

By following the above examples, you might be able to get your account unsuspended simply by paying outstanding eBay fees or providing them with relevant identity and tax documents. However, if you are unable to get your account unsuspended that way, your best option is to register a new, “clean” eBay account.

How to register a “clean” eBay account after being suspended

eBay will do their best to try and stop you registering a new account if you are a suspended user, but it is possible to do if you know how. The crucial key here is that you use a completely different set of personal data – that includes everything: name, address, IP address, telephone number, email address, physical address, bank account, etc. – to trick eBay into thinking you are a new user.

Here are some tips that will help you get a “clean” new account:

  1. Delete all cookies, saved passwords and eBay-related software (such as Turbo Lister) from your computer.
  2. Get a new IP (Internet Protocol) address. This varies in difficulty depending on your ISP, but can be done quite easily by using eBay from a different location or by resetting your modem or router. Proxy servers is another option.
  3. Register a free email address with an email provider such as Hotmail, Gmail or Yahoo.
  4. Register under a different identity, such as your partner or friend's name and address, if they agree to it.
  5. Use different bank, credit card and Paypal information. There are several places online or offline that will give you with a free credit card or bank account to use, but remember it has to be registered under different details from your suspended account.
  6. Do not log back into your suspended eBay account.
  7. Do not rush back into selling (see “Why was my account suspended: Listing more than 100 auctions per day” above.) Around five auctions per day should be fine for a brand new account not to get flagged.
  8. Do not use any information that matches the information associated with your suspended account.

Remember that as soon as eBay get one whiff of your former identity, even a matching phone number, Paypal or IP address, they will automatically suspend your new account leaving you unable to trade.

I have been in these situations before with Ebay - I actually had to close down my business and lay off aboout 6 employees due to them closing my account for reasons untold... Today it's a lot different from back then, but they are still a good source of inome if you can do it and stay under the radar...

Good advice. It's awful when these big companies refuse to do business with you.

Resetting your modem or router probably won't get you a new IP these days. Hopefully eBay isn't suspending based on specific IPs any more anyway.

i just got suspended from selling on eBay last week, ive been selling on eBay since 1999, and i mad this a full time job, started a business around eBay. I have a family a wife that takes care of my 2 kids. I GOT SUSPENDED FROM EBAY BECAUSE I GOT 3 BAD FEEDBACKS IN A MONTH. Now im selling a few hundred items a month. One of the bad feedback was i missed this ladies massage cause the item I sold was missing a $2 part, she left bad feedback. Another lady said the item did not match the pic item that I sold her. Now i have sold at least 50 of this item with the same pic, never had any problems, eBay didn’t care. So after my account got suspended I called and a lady that works at eBay and she SAID, YOU GET ONE OF THEASE NEG FEEDBACKS OFF, YOUR ACOUNT WILL BE BACK UP AND RUNNING. So im happy I get two taken off and go out and spend over 4000 on things to sell. i go to list the items its saying my account is suspended. eBay still wont do anything even this lady said that all i have to do is remove to bad feedbacks.

sorry i just had to let that out.

Phone Salesman 2 years ago

Greetings web-friends. I am both a seller and buyer on ebay. I have over 160 feedback and I am at 100% positive with no negative or neutrals. I have had two incidents where I amitted I was wrong, made it right, and received positive feedback. I have been the victim of a seller who refused to ship for a phone I paid for right away. All I can say is ebay is all about CUSTOMER SERVICE. If the customer states something is wrong, listen and try to fix it. Five dollars is pennies in the bucket to lose compared to that negative feedback being on your account forever. A couple tips to prevent negative feedback and suspensions: 1) Describe item exactly (scratches, cracks, etc.), does it have any accessories or not? etc.; 2) Ship quickly--Priority Mail works best; 3) Don't over charge for shipping. If shipping cost around $5, inflate it to no more then $9 or people will know you are being greedy. And last, if you wouldn't buy something don't sell it; if you wouldn't pay that much, don't list it that high. Karma: what goes around comes around. Thank you. :)

I have been suspended for two weeks now and, even after sending all required documents, I am still being asked to verify ownership of the selling item. The problem is, the item is Gold Coast apartment accommodaton and the apartment doesn't belong to me but I was managing the ebay listing for the apartment owner who is computer illiterate. I was doing it as a favour, not even being paid for it and his name and phone number were clearly stated on the listing but I was replying to buyers questions via email as he is not able to do it. I explained the situation and they asked me to send a photo of myself with the selling item. This really irritated me. Should I fly to Gold Coast and take a photo of myself in front of the resort? Or inside the apartment? What nonsense! I told them that it was ridiculous to ask for a photo of me with the apartment and they replied that my account would be suspended until I provide requested document. WHAT DOCUMENT????? I am so mad, I don't really use ebay to sell anything other than this accommodation as a favour to my relative but I did intend to sell some furniture and my personal stuff as I will be moving soon and I am most annoyed and irritated with the treatment and the way the just instantly suspend your account without warning. I think it is disgusting and I cannot even beging to understand how the full time sellers who rely on these sales as their only source of income. I think something should be done about this. You begin to rely on them to support your family and just like that, without warning, they suspend your account. They should not be able to do so, after all, it is those sellers that generate an income for Ebay so to treat them like that, I am APALLED.

My account was suspended three times under ebay when I applied using a different email address. I kept all of the information the same because it is difficult to verify you paypal account if you keep changing addresses. After the last suspension, I decided to hook up with ebay suppliers I had dealt with outside of ebay to get merchandise for my flea market. The shipping charges were also quite high so I will only deal with free shippers. I now use WebWholesalers who can not suspend your account as it is a website of wholesale suppliers. I do not think that I will ever open up another ebay account.

I had my account suspended for 30 days because two negative and one neutral feedback in month, I was really my all business on ebay and this is the big mistake I did it and know I learn my lesson in the hard way , ebay is only a shark company which want take money from business and they don’t care if you are paying a loot fees for then in the of the day you only a number a parte from this I learn if keeping trade like these I will help ebay destroy many small business in the high street which the need to pay many bills and have staff to be paid which they can loose jobs if people continue trade in the ebay. To make money I have to put my prices to low to make a profit and fight with ebay fees. I hope people think twice before doing business on ebay or you can not only end up in a big mess like me but automatically you are help ebay getting bigger and bigger and others business and people suffer.

I am so sick of ebay and their new rules I just moved to a free ebay alternative site called http://bidtunnel.com here they have all the great features and not the bad sellers rules that ebay now has.And the best thing about Bidtunnel is its free to sell and sellers can leave neg. feedback if needed.

ebay ruined themselves with all the new stupid rules.I am done with ebay.BTW ebay pulled my auctions for no reason and still charged me the listing fees.

I was suspended twice for listing so called knock off handbags. I purchased them on Ebay first of all. Instead of filing a complaint against the seller, I thought I would just relist it. BAD IDEA!!! They suspended me, instead of the original seller of the item. I complained, to no avail, Ebay told me, they didn't want my kind on thier website. WTH is that!!! I am in the UK. Just out of curiosity, how do you open a bank account that is linked to your 'new name' when you are not actually who you say you are?

RBI 22 months ago

Ebay is really the best out there. I've been suspended three times. My first account that has been suspended was about a year and a half old. It was suspended because I suddenly switch to selling digital products from tangible goods and they have accused me of manipulating feedbacks. I was able to opened a new account by cleaning my computer (deliting cookies and changing my ip address). I've open a new paypal account using a new debit card. The address I used on both eBay and paypal are the same address I used on my suspended account except that I've changed the word "St." to "Street" and the word "Rd." to "Road" just to make it diffirent from the old one which I think it really doesn't make any sense. But it works and I'm happy selling my own screen printed t-shirts for over a year and I've got 600+ pos feedback until one day they imposed a selling limits on my account and they ask me to contact the safe harbor department but I did not contact them for over a month and then I decided to contact ebay why my acount has a limited selling restriction. Then the next day I was suspended. Seems like my account was plagged for listing over 50 items in one day and boom! when I contacted them, they suspended my account.

I then cleaned my computer again (delete coockies and temporary files from the "tools" menu), open a new paypal account with a new debit card and new email address and it works fine. I sold an item and I was able to get 18 feedback from buying and selling. Then one day because I'm stupid, I list over 100 items with multiple options in one day. Then the next morning my account was blocked/suspended. Probably it was flagged and they have found a flaws in my account: using expired telephone number which is a big mistake. I could have use my in-laws' phone number.

Then I opened a new eBay and Paypal again using the same process.

All I have to do now is familiarize the rules and watch carefully.

As far as I know, my 3 accounts was suspended not because they linked to the previuosly suspended account but because of the mistakes I've unintentionally made.

One thing you have to be careful, do not try to open your suspended account on the same computer where you have opened your new paypal/ebay account. It'll get suspended. I kow because I've try.

My procedure works for me and I'm back selling again.

Just curious if you could you a Travelex Cash Passport to hook up to your Ebay/PayPal account? Since they need a billing address you could use a post office box address? Lots of hassles! I am just crapped off because they gave me the lame excuse of listing 60 items in a day...and now I am going to be up sh1t creek without a paddle financially. LAME. How dare they have a monopoly on the market :-/ It is bad enough you HAVE to use PayPal, let alone charging for it too...then suspending my PayPal account which had a $400 odd dollar balance just sitting there. SOOOOO cheesed off (to put it nicely)

Down with FeeBay 20 months ago

My story goes like this, if anyone can help me there will be something in it for them, that will be more than worth thier while.

Ok, so mine was suspended due to listing autographed items, all of which are 100% genuine and were bought from very reputable dealers which give me lifetime guarantees which I pass on to my buyers, whilst also providing direct lifetime guarantees by myself personally, all in a written letter of authencticity. I was selling music memorabilia. They have a company called PSA/DNA on thier "approved" authenticators list and they offer a "online opinion" for $7.50 which "can change upon then physically examining the item". To anyone with authentication knowledge, you will know this online service is a complete scam and if someone has one of your listings opinionated by this service, and it does not have a PSA/DNA certification it will 99.9% of the time come back as "most likely not genuine" after that happens, they send a notice to ebay showing them the finding or opinion I should say, then the listing gets removed and you get given a TRADEMARK POLICY VIOLATION a what you may say, yeah me too, anyway these "policy breaches" are in the severe category and last on your account for no less than 12 months, yes all due to an online opinion.

So I got a few, contacted Joe Orlando (President) from PSA and we had words, which I took as though we had an understanding, my listings wertn'y touched for over 6 months then BAM antoher two violations and my account of 4 years with over 1500 (recorded) feedbacks was suspended indefintely.

Ebay in time will get thiers, one way or another, but in the mean time, if anyone can help me out, I will make it worth your while email me at gtechpro@tpg.com.au

GRRRRRRRRRR Ebay ! If your new and have not joined up, the advice is steer clear, thier advertised 20,0000 buyer protection is hogwash, if they go and try and take the money from the seller and they do not have it in thier paypal or bank account, you will not get a cent, there is no real protection for any buyer or sellers, lastly, FeeBay and Paypal are owned by the same people, no wonder you HAVE to include paypal as a payment method. Another story of big corporations stepping on the people that got them big in the first place.

I created my first Ebay account in December 2009 to listed a several items ( jeans and shoes) suddenly they blocked me for no reason in January saying blah blah I have violated the rules something n asked me to verify my information and the receipt that show ownership of the item which I bought in September oversea. I explained to them its kind of impossible because I don't always keep the receipts. Their email reply indicated that I MUST have the receipt for my account to activate again. when I finally got the receipt by asking my sister to get it from the shop owner (luckily I'm a regular there whenever I travel home) Ebay people decided that they don't feel like to activate my account anymore, that my account will be block indefinitely and don't bother email them because the email will only be read but may not be answered. WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried open another account 2 weeks ago with the same paypal and same postal address. I didnt know we have to clear things in pc until I read this. I got suspended 2nd time an hour ago. I just listed 2 items and bought a nail polish this afternoon. @___@ I'm really frustrated. I'm an oversea student *not a rich one*, no job atm. just trying to sell never use stuffs making extra cash. I will register a new account using tips from everybody and if I ever got suspended again, ebay have my curse.

Ebay is horrible, they take all your profits. . .

Just so you know, they don't read complaints, cases, or comments--its all automated.

I have had buyers flat out scam, cheat and lie and they always win. Ex: Sold a guy an a/c recently--shipped to washington state. What I didn't know was he actually lived in canada. he had a 3rd party freight company ship it from Washington state to canada after UPS dropped it off at at the destination listed on transaction.

buyer claims there was a "compressor problem" and that he ran the a/c and it was "noisy". I believed that it was damaged in transit (storing upside down ruins them), so I filed a UPS claim. UPS arranges for pickup/inspection from buyer--@ this time I was still unaware that buyer Was located in Canada, of course, denies the claim because it was handled after they dropped it off. I only found out b/c their letter of denial said my "package did not follow international specifications," and that they were not the "sole party involved in shipping" Also, when I got the item back, the venting accessories were still in original package. They guy was too stupid to install venting so he ran it w/o (gee I wonder why it didn't work)

I have been migrating to my own site and ebid.com. Ebay is a joke now. Selling there only makes profit for them.

Buyer files claim, and wins despite fraudulently breaking contract.

Ebays response was that "seller has responsibility for shipping," and than I "should purchase insurance!"

There were many other things in their response that Indicated they didn't read claim.

I just got suspended off ebay 3 days ago for a trademark violation. I was selling Your Baby Can Read that I had personally owned. They told me to e-mail VERO so I did. All I get back is some automated message. 2 people filed a dispute against my because Ebay said I was selling fake things. I reassured them that they weren't fake and that I ownened them. Today I get an e-mail that says I've been suspended indiffently and that I was a security threat. I was with Ebay for 3 1/2 years and 100% feedback. They want me to pay all the listing fees for the items I had listed. I closed down my paypal and cancelled the credit card that I had on Ebay and got a new one. They're crazy if they think I'm going to pay for something that they had no right to shut down. They wouldn't even accept pictures with me and the items. I'll never use Ebay again. It was my source of income. I'm so angry now. Can anyone out there let me know of other auction sites. I would greatly appriecate it.

I got suspended by allowing someone to use my account. Boy, was that a mistake. He sold about 30 cell phones a day on the acct and then I told him to pay e-bay. He ignoured me and continued to sell. I paid e=bay and said I want to pay using paypal to pay off a 1,500 balance. At that point all the negatives starting rolling in and it is almost impossbile to pay off all the e-bay fees and paypal fees. Looks like I'm doomed because the cell phone seller has taken all the money from the acct and left nothing for the 40 or so refunds that they want me to pay. I went from power seller to nothing. I doubt if they would reinstate my acct anyway since I allowed someone to use it. Does anyone know the ground rules of E-bay on this?

I don't think ebay deserves our business or that we should have to beg and plead for them to let us back on. There is a new auction site BOOCOO.COM that suppose to be Ebays competition in the near future. They are easy to sign up with and don't all those personal questions and its just like ebay. Don't let ebay take your happiness. Move on to something better and SPREAD THE WORD. Tell everybody. Thats the only way it will take off. Go to other forums with other suspended ebayers and tell them about BOOCOO.COM It may be a little slow now but list things on there people will want and TELL PEOPLE ABOUT IT!!! This is just the beginning people lets work together!

Ebay itself is crooke Ebay should be punished with heavy taxes from government. Every day goes by ebay and its Executives get fat and fat. Ebay policys are more towards buyers and not toward sellers. People have used our items and returned to us like in garbage form and still we were liable to refund. Also it is not fair seller market. your competitor can easily creat a account with different id , ip & bank account and you can easily get 4-10 negatives if group of friends join in knocking your ebay business out. I wish their was a way to get even with ebay.

lisad 16 months ago

I was suspended from Ebay because they said I had "activity" on my account. I had sold sheets new and in a package. they demanded that I send them invoices of where I bought them. Then they said that where I bought them was not an "authorized ebay distributor". This is real crazy. I sent them everything. Now they are wanting to verify my inventory after I sent them everything. I told them to come to my house and look at it. I am banned. Do not know if I will ever use Ebay again. I have 100% feedback.

Dave 16 months ago

This happened to my freind at work. All of his accounts were suspended and he couldn't sell any more of his items. He told me exactly what this article said to not get suspended. Important stuff to know if you plan on selling a lot of items and making a living through ebay.

ambenjamin79 16 months ago

Ebay suspension of selling accounts is a form of mental punishment and seller should consider filing federal lawsuits for violating the Eight Amendment of the United States Constitution, CRUEL and UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT.

While the Eight Amendment of the Constitution is interpreted to as only referring to Capital cases where human being physical life come to an end; cruel and unusual punishment should also be applied to business relationships.

Just as we have physical life that can come to an end, we equally have a business or financial life that is equally important as our physical life; because once either one is damaged, life is meaningless and you are already physically or mentally dead.

To deny anyone a right to earn money is form of punishment that destroys the soul and mind just like a bullet from a gun. No one should have the right to make people or business suffer without probable cause and given a chance to defend themselves. Just as slavery and denying woman the right to vote were forms of social injustice that had to be eliminated. Businesses like Ebay having the right to be permanently end your source of making money has to come to an end. It is a form of punishment that is barbaric as chopping off hands and feet. Ebay unjust suspension has to come to an end, it is CRUEL and UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT.

I was suspend from eBay too with absolutely no reason at all (the email says i breached eBay policy of clause 9, but still make no sense at all), so unfair and cruel, i sale some usb flash drives on eBay with 100% feedback, most likely i was kicked out eBay by some strong competitors, because i was just trying to sell very low price to gain more feedbacks as new seller, eBay closed my account without any warning and also asked for many documents to prove my identity, after all the trouble, my account is suspended indefinitely, again with no reason, i hate eBay, lucky i just started, even though lost hundreds of dollars with the stocks left behind , but think positive, better than close my account after i start to order a lot of stocks.

TRDRVIC 15 months ago

I WAS ON EBAY SINCE DECEMBER 1997 AND JUST GOT SUSPENDEND BECAUSE I DID NOT COME UP TO EBAYS STANDARDS THAT THE BUYER CAN DO NO WRONG. BUYERS CAN SAY ANYTHING THEY WISH AND EBAY BELIEVES THEM BEFORE THE SELLER. EBAY WANT THE SELLER TO ABSORB THE POSTAGE COSTS AND SHIP FOR FREE.BE AWARE THAT EBAY IS NOT THE SELLERS FRIEND AND WILL SIDE WITH THE BUYER IN 99.9% OF THE DISPUTES PLUS YOU CANNOT ACCEPT ANY PAYMENTS ACCEPT PAYPAL WHICH EBAY OWNS THUS GETTING PAID TWICE FOR THE SAME ITEM.

waybill 15 months ago

Got suspended for some Unpaid Items Strike.

Could no longer log in so I paid seller directly through Paypal, NOT Ebay-Paypal-Payment-Facility.

Seller did not send the item I paid for.

I filed dispute directly to Paypal.

Paypal said I am not protected for only Ebay items are protected.

So,what in hell does Paypal Buyer Protection mean???

What's our shield for off-ebay purchases then?

ebay is a screw up.

i brought something from seller that was broken but i brought it for parts, he had on ALL his auctions, pickup is ok, i could walk to his place to collect! then in checkout he charges me for postage, which was waaaaaayyyy to excessive, i complain, and they refuse to negotiate, were not talking $5 postage... it was ALOT they were demanding. spoke to ebay, and they said that sellers can legally charge whatever they like for postage, they can charge $1,000,000 for postage and if i dont pay im banned! So i pay, and threw the item out. The postage was so high i could have brought 3-5 new! And all i got for that money was 1 busted thing for parts. I should have killed him.

As a seller, i sold something, i make the listing 100% accurate, everything is perfect, every scratch, every blemish i listed it accurately. In one of the photos you could was something in the background, it was NOT in the sale, they say that it was in the photo and that i rip them off and they ruined my feedback for nothing... Even if you take photos of your stuff in your house, you gotta say "house is not included in the sale" some people are just stupid.

Another time i sell my laptop, buyer doesnt contact or anything, i check feedback, lots of positive feedback from a seller selling laptops, i find that it is genuine multi account, the ebay seller use multi account to buy up all competition, so they can sell there stuff. Sure ebay ban him and his multi, but no compensation for me, 3 tries to sell that laptop, each time is brought by scammer that doesnt pay. I still have that laptop, though 5 years ago that laptop was worth alot, now its worthless. Ebay say that bidding is a contract..... fucking bullshit, if its contract, id have sold it 5 years ago (would have lost alot of money as it was worth alot and went for low price)

Just yesterday my wife list something on ebay, straight away scammer asking for email address and paypal address for scam.

My account suspended and closed. I decide to quit ebay business. No use and waste my time.

Ebay closed account like "Robot" without thinking the real business and the long term support.

For example, if I got 3 compliants from customer, do I need to close the shop due to this 3 compliant. It's impossible.

If some competitor to buy 3-5 things and left 3-5 feedback, your account will closed again under ebay robot policy. Limited, suspended, 100 pcs per month posting....until you give up. All document sent, helpdesk, all done, but no use. How is the ebay like this? Sorry, I already give up ebay and find other way to do business with less deal but at least feel comfortable and smooth in business. Doing more emarketing to promote items. ebay policy is "to block your account until you leave"

tuan 15 months ago

I agreed with all the comment here. Ebay is totally unfair and ripoff business and I think federal need to step up to investigate its business; otherwise a million of ebay seller become a victim of fraud and unjustice everyday. Here is my case:

A buyer with 60% feedback won my video card and he decides to return to get his money back. I agreed to return his money; but only after I receive it and inspect it to make sure it is the same one that I have sent it to him. Ebay refunded the money to him once they saw the USPS tracking said that I have received the item. They did not give me three days to inspect it before refund the buyer money. According to its rule, they will give me three days to refund buyer money when I receive my item back. Now I asked for a refund for $7 final value fee; but they did not refund me because they said that I forced them to do it. $7 is peanut to me; but their business suck big time. They alway listen to the buyer not the seller and I agreed that 100%. I wish wish wish one day Ebay was sued big time.

Now, don't you ever try to do any business on Ebay. Stay away for good. If you try to sell your old stuff once in a while, then that is fine; but don't you dare to do business on Ebay, eventually it will break your bank. All it needs is a couple of bad buyer; then you are gone for good and especially the international buyer who wants free stuff. Stay away from Ebay if you are thinking of doing business on Ebay. The problem is it takes alot of selling to make a profit; but it only takes one bad buyer; then all your profit are gone for good because Ebay did not give a fuck about seller; all they care is buyer or customer and I believe that is what ebay business ethic and may be its CEO might say to the seller team that screw the seller make buyer happy.

One final comment for you all thinking about doing business on Ebay is stay away stay away; otherwise you are wasting your time to make those motherfucking Ebay executive people rich.

tuan 15 months ago

Here is how ebay business ethic is:

Screw the seller to make buyer happy for whatever reason.

That is 100% correct.

Lia 15 months ago

I was suspended from Ebay because a buyer who requested a refund immediately after the bid close, and I gave the refund within the hour, was able to leave NEGATIVE FEEDBACK commenting on the quality of my product, which he never received. How can Ebay let him give feedback about something he never even saw or touched? I get suspended "indefinitely". I have a 98.1%, 4.85 stars and happy buyers, Ebay doesn't take that into consideration, just a bogus buyer who hasn't bought anything since 2005, and this one phony incident gave them just cause to suspend me. They won't even let me just buy from them.

We arrived into our huge warehouse filled with motorcycle parts on wednesday and proceeded to log into our ebay based company's account (normal day of business...we thought) only to find, without warning, that ebay had suspended our account...indefinately!! Previously we had totally changed our policies, on the advice of ebay, changing our postage prices to 'FREE POST' and putting a 20% discount on all of our 7,000 listing (even though we are the cheapest shop for this particular area of goods on ebay) as they had not allowed us to list any items for the past 3months due to this new 'star rating' scheme of their's...baring in mind, our feedback is 99.7% POSTIVE and we have been trading (our only source of income) for 3 years. After complying to their rules and including explanations via email and letters to customers about the new star rating scheme, eBay informed us that they were happy with our progress and would therefore allow us to start listing again on november 20th 2010...by this time, we had lost our home due to the fact that NO income was made due to this, but were willing to comply with the new policies to keep our family business open.

The following week (start of this week) was when they hit us with this unsuspected indefinate suspension. NO WARNING. NO VALID REASON.

We have no choice but to declare bankruptcy and scrap all of our stock (probably amounts to half a million pounds worth in sales) which we will probably weigh in for around £1500!!!

WE ARE HOMELESS AND BANKRUPT because of eBay, and as husband and wife, are forced to live seperately with family members to support us for everyday things like FOOD and HOT WATER!!

It's time we all stood our ground and showed our anger in the legal way to help future businesses to succeed...we have been left with NOTHING and we do not want to see this happen to our children and our children's children...

If anyone would like to join me in taking a stand and getting justice from these criminals, please feel free to contact me via email

For those of you who are smart enough to know doing business online is not a good option especially if it is a businesss main profit generator. ALways remember DOING BUSINESS ONLINE is never the best way to do busines. Any professional business entrepreneur would know this. TEchnology might spoeed things up for you in the short run but in the long term things can hapen to technology as well just as if now you turned to EBAY because the newspaper or magazine you advertised in for 20 years is now taken over by online technology.

DONt fret this is a common occurence in the business arena where a big cpompany like EBAY or a monopoly can run into legal problems as well because they just have too many custoners to look after (maybe if they used all the money they stole from us they could have done something like I dont know create something like DPAY dogpay or Bpay Bad pay lol) yes how simple is that idea to create a series of ebay trading sites to fit us all in it only costs EBAY or its owners I dont know maybe 1% of their profit they stole from us to create something alot more user friendly lol

DOing business on the internet is great if it is just ONE way among others BUt never the only way!! A good business entrpreneur always has a CP contingency plan when it comes to advertising. Always back yourself up business is COMMON SENSE.

Write up a business plan it doesnt take long no matter how small your business is a business plan can take you from surviving 1 month to 100 years. It will tell you that there are internal and external factors in the business environment can affect your selling such as I dont know EBAY causing a commotion and suspending your account because you spelt your name wrong lol okay maybe it wont predict this precisely but it will trigger your thinking that EBAY might pull your ad out or suspend accoounts - ALWAYS do a business plan before your embark on your business journey.

ANyways if you need help with advertisng I can help you my email is richardanna.loloma@live.com

I have a BAchelor and MBA in business lol im still in my post pregnancy thinking so apolgoies if mty sentences dont make sense oR is it because IM so shaken with anger with disappointment with EBAY lol

Email me if you need realigning of your advertising and marketing projects Id be too glad to help but it=f it is a big thing then I will charge accordingly. I can help with identifying advertisng mediums for your target markets, creating a niche for your product where to find this niche/s and how to get them to buy from you. I am a real person I dont have a consultancy business although thanks to EBay I might just start my own business lol since I cant rely on them to sell my tangible products lol EBay is such a joke anyways GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU who is going through this...in business there is always a way out you just have to know how

We started selling on Ebay in 2002 and for the last 3 years made pretty good money. Our feedback was 100% of over 5000 customers and we shipped fast & free, gave excellent customer service and thought that we were doing everthing right. And then out of the clear blue we received an email that we were suspended...the reason did'nt make sense because it had something to do with safety. WTH??? safety? we had no complaints from our customers or had no idea what Ebay was referring to and they could'nt tell me either. At first I was devastated and then I began to read other blogs from suspended sellers from Ebay and realize that these Ebay people will do whatever they want and theres not a thing we can do about it. And now I'm feeling that its probably a blessing in disguise because who wants to be in fear all the time. Selling on the internet should be a fun lucrative thing that both seller & buyer can share. With Ebay, they punish you like a kid for no reason. There are other avenues to make good money selling your items on the internet. We have always been honest sellers, ship fast and worked very hard for that Powerseller status with 100% feedback and if they do that to us...they're really lousy. We don't ever want to be in that position again. We will start our own website. And anyway Ebays fees are ever increasing where the seller can't make much of a profit anyway.

Hang in there folks, if you've been suspended from Ebay, consider it a blessing and a new beginning!

Ebay sucks!! I had 3 accounts with Ebay and they suspended all. My friend and I share a Paypal account. He sells on ebay and I don't. I only buy. His account was suspended for violating ebays terms (all they would say is that the account was suspended for the safety of the ebay community). So because they suspended his account, they suspended all of my accounts. One of my accounts even has a separate paypal account and is in no way associated with my friend's account but they suspended that one too. They sent me an e-mail stating that when the issues are resolved with my friend's account I can fax them some info a(driver's license, utility bill, etc) and they would reinstate the account. So I sent the info and when I didn't hear from them after 4 business days, I called their customer service center. After waiting on hold for 15 minutes some young dude (late teens to early twenties) came on the phone. I explained the situation and he asked me to hold again. When he came back on the phone after about 5 minutes he came back on the phone and said that after reviewing my info they felt it would be best not to reinstate my account. He refused to tell me anything more than the email told me. For the safety of our ebay community. He said that I would never be able to use ebay again. When I asked him why they were banning me for the actions of someone else they said that I allowed my friend to use my account, therefore I am just as responsible. But the thing is that we only shared a paypal account. None of the information on his ebay account matches mine. Not even an IP address. In addition, I even have a separate paypal account that only I use and they even cancelled my ebay account associated with my solo paypal account.

I didn't use ebay too much but I did like it because I have been able to find items that I couldn't find anywhere else online or offline. Like Theotis said, this probably is a blessing in disguise. When one door closes, another one opens. I am heart broken over ebay's divorcing me and it doesn't make the break-up any easier when everything I see on-line promotes it. :(

Over the last several months I have been at war with ebay over account restrictions b/c I made a minor error in one of my postings. Now they are shutting me down periodically with no good explanation and customer service is not sure of themselves and providing me with contradictory information. I even took to the time to do extensive research before I started trying out ebay but the policies section in extremely long and unclear and even then you are subject to the whims of ebay's staff, which are honestly not too bright or well informed. Ebay is such a powerful giant that they can basically do whatever they want to you (and they do) without worrying about the consequence. I implore everyone to try and use alternatives to ebay (do a search and you will find hundreds) as much as possible as most are taking advantage of ebay's stranglehold policies and you get the benefit. And if you decide to sell on ebay, GOOD LUCK!

Ebay is the biggest joke i have ever seen. I first had an account with them about 3 years ago. I was buying electronics (phones, ipods, radios) from flea markets & craigslist, cleaning them up, and selling on ebay. After about 400 sales, ebay suspends my account. Tells me i need to provide receipts for every single item i sold on their. I told them i was buying these at flea markets and that, and had no receipts, well that suspension never came off.

About a year ago, i opened another account in a family members name. I was selling everything from household items to small collectibles. Well i had 142 positive feedbacks and 100% rating. I had one guy try pulling a scam on me, demanding money from me or he would leave me negative feedback. I turned it into ebay, and ebay found that this was considered extortion, and told me i didnt have to pay him. Well guess what, he still left me negative feedback, and it banned me! I called ebay and ebay said even though his comments fell under his extortion, he is entitled to his opinion to leave negative feedback. WTF!!! How can someone threaten me, be found guilty of it, but still find a way to leave me negative feedback and get me suspended? Also, 1 negative feedback and im suspended? Ebay is garbage and i hope that whole company files bankruptcy and all those big CEO's end up on some bad reality show that fails also.

Smokey 12 months ago

Hi all - I need some help. Background: I have only been a registered ebay user for a few weeks. I recently put a few mobile phones (new in boxes) up for sale on ebay. The items sold and the money went in to my Paypal account. I then put up about 6 or 8 more items to sell that totaled in value maybe $400 to $500. That same day my ebay account was blocked. When I contacted Paypal they said I needed to provide receipts etc. for the items I had sold. They also explained that they would be contacting y buyers to confirm the items were mailed and showed up. I explained these were personal items that I had for a couple years and never ended up using them. I also explained that I didn't have receipts because so much time had passed and I couldn’t find them. To date I am still blocked on ebay and heavily restricted on Paypal (i.e no cash withdrawals). I would expect, from the discussions that I've had with Paypal, that Paypal will not release the money in my account. What would happen if I were to refund all purchase amounts to the buyers (who have already received their items because I've already mailed them), and emailed the buyers and asked them to put the cash directly into my bank account? Doing this would bypass ebay and Paypal and I would be able to recover money that is rightfully mine. I would appreciate any insight any of you may be able to provide on this matter. Thanks

eBay has been my main source of income for 6 years. On the 9th of february they limited me to making 72 listings per month, due to my dispatch time DSR falling to 4.6 over the christmas period where I was very active selling on ebay.

The weather in the UK was 12 inches of snow a week before the post office holidays, and when my buyers were finally recieving there item's they were leaving terrible DSR's for dispatch time.. even though I kept in full contact with my buyers throughout the whole sale, constantly giving them tracking updates.

It is so easy for a buyer to rate low DSR's for whatever reasons, wether it be the sellers fault or not. This can ruin a good sellers reputation like mine, the buyers don't think at all when clicking the ratings, as to how important and life changing they are for some people.

I have 100% feedback and this is a major blow for me, having just invested my savings in new stock.

eBay is horrible 11 months ago

I created a successful eBay business in 6 months generating over $20,000 in sales per month. I was paying eBay well over $1,000 per month as well as paypal nearly the same. I had 2 customers open disputes and close them within 1 hour. That pushed my account over the "limit" for opened cases. Now I'm suspended indefinitely and there is nothing I can do. eBay is a complete monopoly and they protect the buyers as if they are 100% honest people, fyi eBay, they're not! Now I need to find an alternative source of revenue..

William Lee 11 months ago

Ebay wants to get out of the online auction business, check out the FBN/WSJ blurb of Feb 14,2011. They will be suspending sellers perminantly for less, and less. Alternative auction sites are the answer, list on several, most have free listings. I like www.Ealtbay.com, it has free listings, has very low final value charges, and all forms of payment are allowed.

Disappointed and Angry 11 months ago

Ebay had previously given me advice on the wording I could and could not use in my listings and I promptly adhered to it, I then had items 'removed' and then right out of the blue my account was suspended. Despite several calls to them I am still no nearer to settling or reinstating my account. I get transferred from one office to another and have to retell my issue all over again to people who I can't understand what they are saying. I thought their computers were all linked together. Finally, I spoke to a chap who spoke clearly and understood my concern and told me to send in an email and it would take 48 hours for an answer. Eight days later I am still waiting. Even though I have promised not to sell the 'offending' items again I can get no satisifaction from any customer support worker. I am still suspended! So emailing is no good, talking to 'humans' is no good where on earth do I go from here. Ebay has NO customer support just a call centre full of robots (sorry robots - you have intelligence) who generally do not care about our liveliehood. No more ebay for me.

So much crying from people who live and die by eBay's whim. If those who got suspended for truly unfair reasons used other auction sites (and more than one, as long as you keep track of your listings) to sell items, you'd put more of a hurt on eBay than you are by complaining.

eBay is getting a reputation as being the go-to place for Chinese and Russian rip-off artists. Serious sellers are tired of the fees and the problems. I've moved my items to yabexe.com. No store fee, no listing fee, and max FVF of below 4%. I do much of my own promotion on blogs and forums to help my sales. Quit your bitchin' and support one of the smaller auction websites that serve your location, or items niche.

My comment is about the 3 day suspension for Policy Violations, which is exactly ehat happened to me 4 days ago. I am still waiting on them to lift the suspension so I can go back to listing.

What really sucks, THEY WERE SO WRONG!!! This was about a pair of Earrings that were purchased at a local Harley shop and listed as such. No warning, noone bothered to ask me a thing,WHAM, no more listing for me. That was the 24th of March.

The part that really pissed me off...when you call eBay, you do not speak to anyone in San Jose, which is where eBay is located, all of the calls are redirected to UTAH... The dude I talked to specifically told me that HARLEY DAVIDSON themselves had seen my item on line and demanded it be removed. Okay, I had proof of purchase on my item and I knew I had nothing to worry about. Yesterday, I talked to another phonehand in UTAH, and she told me he was full of shit. It was another eBay member that turned me in. Now do you not think it would only be right if they found out from me, A GOOD SELLER, with an AWESOME Seller Dashboard, that works her ASS OFF on this eBay shit, dont you think they should have found put for sure instead of taking the word of a LOWLY bidder, or a jealous seller? Hell NO.....you cannot talk to anyone in San Jose cause they are only interested in the sellers that bring in the BIG BUCKS. the peons like me? we do not count more thasn a pimple on their asses! wothout people like me, they wouldn't even have asses What I would not give if there were a place that had 1/2 the traffic and 1/2 of the sales that eBay does....I have tried so many other sites, and listerd on almost all of them and I sold 3 items from 6 other sites in a 6 month period. And I have some pretty cool shit.

Thanks for letting me vent and any comments are welcome!

Thanks

I would like to ask a question. What about those services who say that they could get my account out of suspension after I pay them, say, 150$ or something. A friend of mine got scammed from one such person. But there are many online services that claim that they are legit and they say if I do not get the result desired they would return my money.

I just wanted to know whether those services are real or not. And are they worth the investment.

Thanks. And great post btw

ebay is just a joke. I had an account with them since 1999 - over 45,000 sales, 5,000 pos feedbacks and in all that time, only ever four negative comments. I have made hundreds of thousands and paid ebay thousands in fees. I bought and sold successfully for years - then one month, I order three items over two weeks - total value about $800. They never show up. So, after three weeks, I lodge a paypal complaint. Seller tells me they sent them - but I never receive them - so I escalate to a claim. Seller shows proof of sending - so they are covered, but paypal has to pay me compsenation for lost goods. All good. But three days later, I log onto my account and you guessed it - suspended. I nearly died... what for? I still can't find out and it has been four months. All I could get out of them was a misuse of the resolution centre. What a stupid joke.

Anyhow, stuff them.. I keep creating accounts and they keep finding them and I keep creating more - eventually i'll win... i only get found out as I get too impatient and buy too many things or sell too many things.

Getting back online is simple - staying there is tricky.. as you MUST change your habits -buy and sell slow until you are online for 30 plus days and have 100 feedbacks, then they'll leave you alone.

Also, don't believe that paypal and ebay aren't the same thing - they are. Immediately withdraw your money from paypal account (if you're stupid enough to leave it in there) and close your account. Setting up a new paypal is simple and point your seller fees to it - never use an old Credit card or within ten minutes you'll be canned.

And if your wondering if it is a silly curry muncher in India doing all this - it isn't - it is all controlled by a very expensive computer that could probably predict lotto numbers correctly every week if it wasn't so busy canning ebay users !!

Whoever designed this 4.6 rule standard is a complete w**ker, haven't been learnt a thing in school and a social reject. Basically buyers can give you wonderful positive feedbacks and stab your back by giving you low star ratings. That will be enough to suspend or limit your account.

It's way too many administration, they make selling a few dollar items into like signing a life long contract, dream on. It's not that they don't charge for selling anything. So Ebay, go and **** yourself.

Fortunately, there are other sites like Amazon and Play.com that you can sell your stuff. For selling popular items such as computer games, I now will move to Amazon and Play.com. For specialised items, I will save my quota and auction in ebay.

I would like to mention here that the procedure outlined here to start selling again on ebay is quite similar to opening a new account on paypal after being getting the previous account limited. Cleaning your cache, using new address and phone numbers, almost all the steps are same except for the part that you would sometimes have to get a new bank account ( though some people claim they have successfully used the previous bank account with the new paypal account. Its better to be on the safe side ).

My account was restricked yesterday, all listings remove and got the same answer every time I call [4 times] can never sell on eBay again, but they are happy for me to remain a Buyer...LOL...

as a lot of people do, I sold on eBay for extra income, my husband is disabled and we really need the extra income, what little it was after paying all fees.

Now, I read family members can get thrown off for linked accounts...scary that companies and the goverment also has that much power!!

Does reopening an account after suspension on eBay work

DUB 8 months ago

My selling account was suspended for non payment. What can i say didnt have the money.. The thing is i already had a second account set up but it is under the same name and everything else the first one is under.. Does any one know if i am good selling on the second account or what.. A friend told me that i would have all accounts suspended if they caught on.. Ive been selling on ebay for 2 years have 100% feed back with over a 1300 score.. Ive dealt with ebay on alot of issues, and one thing i know is never believe what they tell you on the phone.. Their service reps dont know sh$t.. Any way i can access my account and buy if i chose to but i just cant list any thing.. All i have to do is pay my fees and il be straight again but thats not gonna happen right now.. So how long do i have before my main account is completely terminated?? For every one else out there who has their accounts terminated try ebid.. Its not as big but if you are selling in small volume it works fine trust me i sell there as well..

Great article...even though I was doing these steps in the past already. But for some reason I cant make a new account without getting suspended less than an hour later.

Maybe I need a new IP address. I was making alot of money selling Louis Vuitton...Now Ebay is getting in my way of my money...And that pisses me off

I have been buying and selling since 1999. I have over 100% positive feedback with no negs or neutrals. I recently bought a watch for $466 and paid thru paypal. The watch never came and no contact from seller other than positive feedback for payment. So I left very descriptive negative feedback. Tao days later my account was suspended for leaving questionable feedback without going thru resolution. When I contacted EBay they acted like they were on the sellers side. What gives???

Robbie 7 months ago

Sorry, on my previous post it should read I have over 2700 feedback and two days later. I should not type when I'm mad.

Hi l am fed up with ebay myself i have put item on ebay for £3.95 Postage and £1P listing told buyers if they dont agree dont bid but they buy your item but still score you down on the Postage rating. They do not comprehend that ebay are doing that so they can get all the profit for themselves. I am in constant fear that someone is going to leave me negative feedback or complain about the postage but Ebay advice to me is to give free postage or keep postage to the price that you send it for.And buy the way who is this profiting because it certainly isnt me the most profit i was making on my items was £1.46 OR £2.42 it really is not fear i have had to put my prices down because i have to get rid of the items taking to much space in the house. I suppose that what you should expect Ebay are not supporting the buyers they are treating the sellers like criminals they must realise if there are no sellers who would the buyers buy from.I think i will just end my listing. If i put my item for £1.99 Ebay take £0.45 and pay pal fees plus materials and stationery what a waste of time.

I am frustrated i cannot believe that Ebay has allowed the buyers to be vindictive blackmailers. They have been allowed to criticise your dispatch time when you clearly stated how long it was going to take. They sit in the comforts of there home sitting on there keyboards ruining people lives.I am in constant fear that when i go on line that my account will be suspended and because of this i am getting deep anxiety. If i won the Euros i would really sort out ebay Ha Ha checked my ticket have not one :(

just somebody accuse me of selling fake shoes can"t even prove it and i stated " money back guarantee" if it's not authentic.Ebay said they make there own sh*t investigation. so they remove my shoes item and give me 30 days of no listing restriction. and i was still waiting for 2 payments of $570.00 and hours later guess what?....i got suspended, i was really so mad that i have to fight with my husband and broke my cellphone. call Ebay many times and get the same stupid answer."they said they can't do anything to my account" for short it's a "FUCKING NO".

I was recently suspended, blocked, when I call customer service, I was told I was not able to know why I was blocked because I could get around then. I ask to speak to a superviser, over and over and over. etc. He finally told me he was the supervisor- I told him fu, about 10 times. Ebay-Should at least be straight and tell us why we are suspended-blocked!

Good Luck to All

One minute later, my item was removed and restricted on the new items. I was shock and called them for any reason, I was told, Ebay got the complaint from the community of Violation Copy right ( WaterTradeMark ....)

Try Yardsellr to sell things! It's the only ebay alternative I've done well with. It's run by people who used to work at ebay back when ebay was fun. It works through Facebook & Twitter and sites like that.

EBAY_DESTROYER 4 months ago

First time user. Opened two separate accounts. Tried to sell some unwanted gifts. Each was suspended within hours.

It seems that they are comparing sellers, and trying to see which makes better profits for them. Then they just suspend the competitor of that seller and obviously reap the additional profits that they gain.

Or maybe they are just trying to maintain full control of finances globally. They probably could. I read that at any point Paypal has about 55 billion USD held from accounts. Can you imagine how many times they can exponentially multiply that money? They could probably become the single provider of financial services on the planet.

Anyway, Ebay and Paypal have the advantage of non-regulation. They will stay that way for a while atleast, because they are so F*CKING RICH! Whatever legislation they need or don't need, they can just lobby and buy. Quite convenient, isn't it?

I worked for eBay's Trust and Safety Department for many years and know for sure that the only way to use eBay again is if you can register under a different individual, with a different address, computer, bank account, and credit card. Unfortunately, not everyone has that luxury. BUT there is a way of getting around this if you know exactly how to explain yourself to eBay's Trust and Safety. Having worked there for over 10 years, I know what they are looking for before they will lift the suspension off of any eBay account. Email me at wylie832@gmail.com and I can help you.

JOIN LAW SUIT AGAIST EBAY

UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT

NORTHERN DIVISION CALIFORNIA

SAN JOSE DIVISION

CIVIL ACTION NO: CV 10-5737-JW

WE ARE CURRENTLY AMENDING THE EXISTING LAWSUIT OR FILING A NEW ONE TO INCLUDE “BREACH OF CONTRACT “ CAUSE OF ACTION.

Please indicate your interest in pursuing this matter and our attorney’s office will be in contact with you

Please email sokolcharlie@gmail.com

We are represented by an attorney who, I believe, recently received documentary evidence that conclusively proves that eBay deliberately manipulated Detailed Seller Rankings (DSRs) to intentionally exclude numerous sellers from their platform. The evidence received also shows that eBay deceives Sellers of the true picture of their Policy Compliance on its Dashboards by “hiding” the actual status. Such actions, at the very least, are unethical and possibly criminal.

THE ATTORNEY’S LETTER REGARDING THIS EVIDENCE WAS FILED WITH THE COURT

""i got suspended to and noticed i had an email from another buyer few days before asking ??? about my items which they are selling the same thing so im guessing they complained about me to get sales. ""

Exact think happened to me, seller ask a question about an item I listed, then the next day bingo suspended. That's ok, other options available, the couple hundred bucks I was paying feebay each month does not mean anything to them, just a drop in the bucket and I noticed if you call them and complaign about anything, within a few days "every time actually" a new adverse action happens out of ebay.

I had my account suspended for "Security" reasons for recent transactions. However, I had not had any transactions. When I call the so-called "Customer Service" number, I am told that due to security reason, they cannot tell me why my account is suspended or what I can do to rectify it. REALLY? When I ask to speak with someone who is authorized to tell me, they repeat themselves, tell me it is unfortunate, then tell me the call is ending and hang up. So true...they have no concern or care for those of us who have a proven track record of honest commerce.

I just opened my eBay account a month ago, never sold anything and was trying to buy a popular item that was listed by many sellers. I bid on about 6 different auctions, none at the same time. I finally won a bid and promptly paid the seller via PayPal. I received the item and 4 days later I get an email that my account is suspended due to suspicious activity. I called support twice and they told me I couldn't talk to a supervisor, and that I had no other course of action available. Done deal, no questions allowed. I reviewed their rules & regulations and I can honestly say that I have NO idea what I violated. EBay sucks and I will NEVER recommend eBay to anyone, and I will share my story with as many people as I can.

Mike9x9 6 weeks ago

I just got suspended for no reason. They claimed to be doing a security check and that I'd done nothing wrong. But then when they couldn't get their "questions" to come up on the computer they wanted me to send them a copy of my drivers license and electric bill from where I live. When I said no way they simply said it will remain suspended. Hate to see it because I purchased some nice items from there but it's their loss not mine.

Ebay is a thief 3 weeks ago

An August 2007 class-action lawsuit in which an Australian attorney stated, "eBay has been deceiving millions of consumers over the years by claiming their auctions start when submitted, when in reality they do not begin for at least several hours, and up to 24 hours. However, the clock starts running on [sellers'] selected auction time even though eBay hasn't posted it yet."[49]

Ebay is a thief 3 weeks ago

On January 29, 2008, a series of new policy changes were announced including an increase in the final value fee and a decrease in the listing fee (when averaged out, the fees actually cost sellers more).[50] Among the more controversial moves was the announcement that sellers would soon only be able to leave positive feedback for buyers, and would no longer have the ability to provide negative or neutral ratings regardless of the experience.[51] The policies also give greater benefits to higher volume sellers. eBay now explicitly gives higher volume "Powersellers" a 5% to 20% discount on the final value fees. These sellers can also receive better terms on shipping costs and preferential positioning in search results.[52]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_eBay

Ebay is a thief 3 weeks ago

In July 2008, eBay started letting web retailer Buy.com list millions of items for sale on eBay without having to pay the listing fees required of other sellers. Its account also highlights eBay's flawed Detailed-Seller-Rating system as Buy.com's eBay account, which was changed in December 2007 to "buy" via a name usurption, always gives free shipping and yet has a 4.8 Rating on "shipping charges," which is below the amount required for the 15% powerseller discount.[55]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_eBay

joe 12 days ago

im amazed that in a free market like the u.s. that there isnt a competitor to ebay.

Cy Stapleton 4 days ago

I also got suspended for "low DSR," even though I had almost 100% positive feedback (only 3 negatives from the same buyer who said shipping was too expensive and I shipped too slow. Item was shipped via small flat rate box the day it was paid and actual cost was charged). FYI I was involved in a class action suit against eBay and we won. The lawyers got $7.5 million plus $160,000 expenses and my check was for $.10. Class action suits benefit only the attorneys, who get rich on them. I have heard of a few successful alternatives. If enough people took advantage of those eBay would feel it. Filing a small claims suit costs about $200 and the maximum you can sue for is $10,000. In the vast majority of cases the one filing the suit wins, so I am told. An attorney is not required. I know that one of these suits $9,800 was one and the other $10,000 was won. I'm trying to find out more about these. My understanding is that when filed, eBay is given a summons to appear on a certain date. If they do not appear they lose by default. I believe the one who filed the suit is given a judgment for the amount of the claim. It is that individual's responsibility to collect on the judgment. I don't know how that is accomplished. But, if eBay got thousands of these suits across the country, it would be a huge out-of-pocket cost. If the same tactic was used in foreign countries, their cost would multiply. And, there are some countries already that have clamped down on eBay making them more user friendly. Just a thought.
